The beer is very dark. A pronounced creamy brown head sits on top and lasts the duration. Lacing is more than adequate as I drink. Nice dusting of cocoa on the nose along with milk chocolate and some light woodiness. The flavor glides over the palate effortlessly. There's nothing big and bold and bad, but for this beer, there doesn't need to be. It's quite flavorful and sessionable. Nice roasted/chocolate/brown malt backbone. It's not overly roasted, but it's there. Chocolate is probably the predominant flavor. Like a baker's chocolate, though not quite as bitter. Some vanilla and oak notes accent throughout. The oakiness is nice and mild, as it should be. The mouthfeel is very silky and velvety. Medium bodied at best. It really goes down quite effortlessly. This is a very enjoyable beer.
