A-Black with ruby brown highlights. A thin tan ring that left some nice lacing.
S-Roasted malt and bit of bourbon (oak/vanilla and alcohol) also a bit of smokiness.
T-Roasted malt flavours with subtle hints of smoke courtesy the peated malt. A subdude astringent oaky/bourbon quality.
M-Medium body with a very pleasnt smoothness.
D-A big suprise from a place like this. One to be proud of for sure. Totally solid with a nice complexity. The 8.5% ABV is barley noticed. Totally smooth and drinkable.

Very dark scarlet red/ruby red body. Light has a hard time transmitting. A super dense creamy brown head is erected. This recedes to a bubbly collar that leaves sporadic splotches of lace as I drink. Aroma is warm and biscuity with juicy malt tones and dark fruits providing complexity. Great creamy mouthfeel. Lightly carbonated and about medium bodied. It flows pretty effortlessly without much of a hint of alcohol either, which is surprising given the octane level here. There's a nice toasted malt backbone here with warm hints of biscuit and bread as well. But the real player here is the peated malt. It is evident in every sip. Now this isn't some overly phenolic smoke bomb, this is just a nicely crafted winter brew with some nice touches of peated malt smokiness. It has that "Scotch Ale" feel to it. Very good. I really like this one.
