Appears that the brewers upped the ante to 144 lbs of pumpkin in the mash for 2012 and it shows. Here is a orange-amber pour with a smallish head and not much lace.

Smell is obviously pumpkin along with a substantial dose of nutmeg.

Very flavorful. Pumpkin is front and center, then a heap of spice flavors, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, graham crackers, with a medium firm body and a lower carbonation. Slight sweetness carries into the finish, lingers but does not become cloying.

A- Reddish orange with minimal head and some lacing.

S- Smells of nutmeg and cinnamon.

T- Nutmeg is the most prominent. Seems fairly once dimensional. Pumpkin flavor is there but soft of muted. Not bad, but nothing great.

M- Mouthfeel is pleasant. Light to medium bodied.

D/O- Fairly one dimersional as stated previously. Would want to stop after one of these.

Note that this is a new offering and a different beer than their Great pumpkin of years past.

The beer is a metallic orange with a fluffy off-white head.

It has a nose of pumpkin spices (nutmeg & cinnamon), pumpkin, malts and a bit of citrus.

The taste tracks very close to the smell. It is slightly sweet with lots of spice notes. Unlike some pumpkin beers, you can actually taste the pumpkin in this one! (per their menu the mash was cooked with 100 lbs. of pumpkin meat along with various barleys & wheat. This unique ale was also dry-spiced with cinnamon & nutmeg.). Beer posses great balance and never veers off-course.

The mouth is creamy and it adds to the easy drinking nature of this beer. One of the better pumpkin beers I have had this year. Well done!!
