Appearance: Poured with half a finger of head on the pour which settled in to a thin layer across the top while drinking. Color is dark copper with light brown on the edges. Active carbonation is below average for the style.
Smell: Hazelnut's right away. The hazelnuts come off with a dark coffee aroma which is very inviting. Some sweet malts and dark oak show up on the body. Wow those hazelnuts are potent and really dominate, in a good way.
Taste: This tastes exactly like a hazelnut cup of coffee. Dark roasted malts fit in perfectly. Some oak, chocolate, and mossy hops linger on the back end. Like the aroma, hazelnuts lead and finish this brew all the way.
Mouthfeel: Slightly roasted malts do very well with the hazelnuts. Carbonation fits.
Overall: This beer 100% delivers hazelnuts. Feel like I've said that word too many times writing this review but this one is all about the nuts. Well done brew.

You better like hazelnut foe this one. There ia absolutely no doubt that the brewer nailed hmark on this one! The beer pours a very cloudy brown which is why I looped in in with brown ales. There is no head and spotty lace. The scent....duh....hazelnut out the....well lets just say its hazelnut. The mouthfeel is medium and carbonation is smooth. Overall its good...make this into a porter or stout??? Hello!
