Pours a dark chestnut with a thin light tan head. There was a couple specks of lacing, but thats about it.
Aroma was slightly sweet toasted malts with a little bit of nuttiness. The smell could have been more assertive. I really had to pry it out of the glass.
The taste was of sweet caramel and dark toffee with some toasted nuts. The first sip had me wondering if the sweetness was going to be too much, but I guess that had more to do with the dessert the wife and I were sharing at the time. Turned out it was a nice brew.
I could see splitting a growler of this one with a friend or two. Another solid beer from Ric and the guys at Stewart's.
