This one pours a deep, dark brown...almost black. Tan bubbles made up the head and left some nice lacing.
The aroma was a good mixture dark roasted malts, coffee, wheat grains, and a touch of dark chocolate.
The flavor was even better. I wasn't sure what to expect as I had never had a "wheat porter" before, but this one was very good. Black coffee bitterness, dark chocolate, and the wheat gave it an almost oatmeal stout kind of flavor. Very nice.
Medium to full bodied. Very creamy. This one went down quite easily on a chilly night. I might have to head back and grab a growler before it's gone. Good job, Ric!
