Debuted in 2012 for the Kiliani Volksfest in Würzburg.
On draft at Laschets Inn, served in a 0.5l Würzburger mug.
Review from written notes.
Color was amber gold, clarity was sharp and bright. On the surface there was ahead of lasting creamy foam leaving behind delicate drippy lacing down the sides of the glass. The surface was pillowy and pocked with craters as the larger bubbles popped.
Appley, grainy aroma, clean and crisp.
Similar in taste, sliced apples and supple barley malt, smooth with a snappy bite of noble hop bitterness. Clean and dry finish. Subtly different from Würzburger Hofbräu, slightly maltier with a vague apple fruitiness. Body is light and crisp, but the texture is fairly substantial. Very refreshing and an easy pairing with hearty German fare.
