Just had this at the 2011 Maine Brewers Festival. Probably brewed specially for this event.
A - Dark brown, almost black with a thin light brown head.
S - Smelled of brown sugar and molasses.
T - Tasted of chocolate and brown sugar. It seemed a bit young and therefor sweet.
M - Fairly heavy bodied and low carbonation. The high sweetness made it feel a little sticky.
D - It was a bit on the sweet side, but it was still a good beer.

Utilized high floatation devices with this one on 10/24/2004. 16-oz. shaker pour at the pub with David Givens making a stupendous catch on the wide-screen.
Plume of creamy starting head, that subsided with some low lace. Dark hue, almost to the point of black, although light did penetrate to the core for a crimson warning light. Tinny malt and brown sugar on nose, with a touch of roasted oats. Crunchy, wholesome chocolatiness to taste, with some noticeable smoky character that pulls through immediately. Lacks the sweetness I generally associate with the style, but this made it all the more pleasant on the palate. I would heartily recommend this offering.
