At the brewpub.
Brown color with a thick beige head with good retention.
Nice aroma with notes of red wine, molasses, candy sugar and licorice.
Flavor with notes of raisins, candi sugar, some citrusy, crystallized fruits, chocolate and cinnamon. Dry aftertaste with a medium bitterness that is no wimp.
Medium bordering full creamy body with appropriate carbonation. Considering this is 9% abv, alcohol was reasonably tamed.
Well balanced and flavorful Dubbel. Though it had a solid malt and yeast base full of intense notes, it had enough hops to counterbalance it. This is sure their best offering.

one of the best beers at such a cool little brewery that has apparently been doing it for quite awhile down in miami. we had a blast in here, and really enjoyed all the classic belgian styles. this one was my favorite, but man, i had no idea it was so strong, it doesnt show it at all, and they dont list it on their menu, this abv explains a lot! of all the belgian styles they do, and they do them all well, this was i think their best. its lighter as dubbels go, not so caramelized and sweet on the grain front, but plenty complex with a nice fruity yeast thats very old world, and more mild and dry bready grain elements at work, chestnut, raisin, date, green pear, its awesome. nice medium body and effervescent carbonation, no booze at all, and a soft spice as it winds down. super begian in feel, feels fancy and regal and important to me, and it gets better and better as it warms up. love the layers here without the sweet long boil weight. pretty in the glass with a soft haze and a tall frothing head. high quality, unique but classic, and downright delicious. look out though, even one is apparently quite the dose!
