Taster at Sun Valley. Hazy golden pour, Patchy head, collar. Faint honey aroma. Honey much stronger in the taste, obscuring any weizen aspects. Overly sweet. More of a wheat ale

i adored this beer, my favorite of the two i had time for in here, and a really solid offering for the summer, one they should be proud of. its a honey hefe, and a mighty fine one, a beer style as a base that i always thought would take honey well, but you almost never see it. my beer came out really sedimented and cloudy, whitewashed yellow looking, nice and heady though, and i got into it pretty good before one of the guys working said it didnt look right and replaced it for free with a somewhat more clear pint, thats darn good service, and i would have happily drank thought the whole thing, but the second one was just much more refined. brighter looking, equally frothy and creamy. aroma and flavor are consistent and appealing, with a lot of floral character from the honey, very identifiable here but without hardly any appreciable sweetness, which is pretty rad, and there is some citrus as well at the end. the wheat is fluffy and dry, earthy even, nice with the honey, and there are some mellow yeast esters too that keep it in the hefe realm, light ripe banana and coriander spice. the honey adds a whole lot to this, couldnt imagine it not being in the mix here, and overall a really drinkable, summery, and frankly impressive beer, made that much better by the wonderful service on it. you dont hear a lot of favorable opinions about this place, but i was stoked on my visit and will be back in here for sure when i get out to sun valley again.
edit: a little inconsistent i reckon this one, and maybe this place in general on a beer quality front, but i enjoyed this again on a visit many years later, lighter overall, a little soapy on the yeast side, a little spicy even, and lacking a bit on carbonation for the style, but still unique and honey forward in an appealing way and very drinkable overall despite being a little sweet. dialing back my real high initial scores just a little here, love how unique this is, but it didnt hit as masterful the second time around...
