Served in a pint glass. Color is a deep brown with hints of red and a great tan head. Smell is very spicy, hoppy and malty in that order. Taste is spicy--notes of cloves and cardamom pods come to mind. The bitterness balances well with a dark/roasted malt character. Mouthfeel is perched precariously on the fence between being too light but ends up being decently balanced. Drinkability is a bit lower because of the tendency towards spiciness, but overall a delicious beer.
