Cask pint at The Millstone. Cloudy golden pour, thin creamy head, rings of lacing. Malty aroma with a hint of sweetness. Taste is faint caramel, malty, toasty. Creamy smooth with a little bit of a dry finish.

From a cask tap at the J. W. Lees Rain pub in Manchester.
Pours with a dark amber body with excellent clarity and a durable off-white head.
Hop dominated aroma with spicy and bready notes. Flavor follows with a touch more hop strength than the aroma suggests.
Mouthfeel. Medium body and soft, medium light carbonation.

J.W. Lees & Co. "Bitter"
cask via handpump
Notes: Crystal clear deep gold/amber body with golden and orange highlights beneath a short head of creamy white. Very good head retention, and beautiful initial rings of lace. Aroma of soft malt with a dry apple and citrus-like yeasty fruitiness and floral hop notes. The flavor offers a very lightly caramelish and just slightly nutty maltiness with the aforementioned apple distinctly present, and leafy and floral hops to round it out. Firmly bitter. Light medium in body and smooth.
