Tasted by a half-pint at "The Moon Under Water", a JDW pub next to Leicester Square in central London.
A: bright reddish amber in colour, coming with a lasting off-white froth and low fizziness.
S: Fuggle's earthy hops come quite fresh and lively, but somehow are quickly superseded by sour-sweet, pear-ish and apple-ish, fruitiness as in a not-so-fresh cask ale...
T: upfront comes a buttery note, semi-plum acidity, and pears, plus grilled sliced apples... restrained hop-bitterness stays in the end, slightly reminiscent of Chinese roasted teas. Overall, it tastes pretty dull...
M&D: semi-flat in the texture, and rather thin. Overall, everything in this glass gives a sign that this is not from a pretty fresh cask, but even if it was on form, I suspect the flavour profile would be any less lacklustre...
