Poured with little head and lots of sediment. One of the best barleywines I've had taste wise.

Harvest Ale (Matured In Lagavulin Whisky Casks)
J.W. Lees & Co.
Barleywine - English
Whoa. a boozy, sweet and super heady malt bomb. Lagavulin is an absolute favorite Scotch Whiskey. Peat moss and serious vinalla oak complexity. 2022 vintage is 11.0% abv. Opened on 10/12/24. Caramel and funky pepper in the back. Bitter finish, tangy too.

Pours a dirty light gold color, dark honey amber in the glass; dense carbonation; thick, spongy, sculpted head, very long lasting. Rich, alluring deep caramel smell; ripe apple; raisins. Rich flavor full of sweetness and spiciness; cinnamon and apple pie; allspice; apple brandy; light phenol spiciness. Heavy body; dense and rich with spicy residual sugars; sticky; alcohol warmth.
This beer exudes Fall flavors. Spicy harvest fruits and farmers' market produce mix with fallen leaves and cider. A lovely beer.

Forget about it. Don’t even contemplate. Buy every last one you see. It’s a light, sweet, complex, sipper that you want to pour back like a light beer. It’s a “pretty” drink, marvelous to look at . Genteel in its flavors, with bold traits from assuredly the yeast strains used. No alcohol bite or warming. Absolutely delicious.
