Vikings liking on draft straight from the source. This was listed as 5.8% and by all accounts I believe to be the same beer already listed here.

The brew appears a clear golden color with a white cap sitting atop. Spotty lace sticks to the glass as the cap fades. A light swirl revives the suds back to the surface.

The smell opens up with suggestions of belgian yeast. Spicy clove and phenols. A little bit of fresh grainy character but otherwise a bit muted despite allowing to warm up.

The taste includes hints of clove and spice with some wheat and fruit inclusion like pear/apple skins. A dry herbal aftertaste finishes quite crisp.

This is a medium to light bodied brew with a light level of carbonation that makes it quit easy drinking. This was described to me a smoked beer... whomever wrote that description really shit the bed. No smoke at all. Maybe I was served the wrong beer? It wouldnt be the first time.

The beer arrived on the table clear golden with a wispy white head which did hang around to lace the glass.

The aroma was piney with a nice caramel and a light fruity character. Also present was a light and very alluring smoke component.

The flavor was piney with a grassy flavor (juniper) and a slight smoke twist. The smoke was interesting and coupled with the juniper led to a very complex flavor which was very refreshing.

The finish was dry with a lasting piney and resinous flavor lasting pleasantly into the aftertaste. The body was medium with a creamy mouthfeel. This was a very, very good beer!

The description said the beer was flavored with juniper and that the style of the beer was Gotlandsdrika and came from the island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea.
