Served on-tap at the brewpub on September 16 with my Happy Hour appetizer. Reviewed from notes.
Pours a dark brown. Thick and creamy head that slowly disappeared. Lots of layered steppe-like lace. Some slight auburn-brown color around the edges. Nose was mild with some hints of sulphur.
Almost too much sulphur--very ash-like. Similar to cigarettes. Some chocolate malts and lots of toasted malts cut the ash flavors a bit. But that ash was prevalent even after I was done drinking. Mouthfeel was thick and creamy--very rich. Perhaps the best quality for this beer.

This is a pint of Porter served cold at the brewery.
A: The porter is a blackish-brown color with no head.
S: The nose is a roasted, slightly chocolate smell.
T: The ale has a strong chocolate and roasted malt flavor. There is no hint of any sourness or bitterness in the ale.
M: The chocolate is pleasant on the palate, but nothing stands out.
D: The ale is moderately drinkable but this is not a flagship porter.

This may be the same beer as some other listed by Beer Advocate for Outer Banks Beer Station but the abv is different as well as the name. Pours a dark brown dense, but with beautiful reddish highlights. Good lacing, not much head (may be a result of the small sampler glass). Fairly mild tasting porter, malty with some traces of coffee. Good follow-on bitterness. Average mouthfeel. Good drinkability, nice and smooth. OBBS has some nice beers, the only one of the four I tried that I didn't like was the Lemongrass Wheat.
