A growler filled and consumed on the same day.
A: The pale ale is a bright orange color, clear with no sediment floating in it. The head neared three fingers on pour and is lacing nicely throughout the glass.
S: The nose is predictably grainy, full of cereal malts that give the ale a strong bready aroma. Citrusy hops cut through to add a nice fruity element against the grains.
T: The toasted grains in the malt body create a reasonably strong grapenuts flavor, concentrated grains that take on a bit of a tart fruit flavor. Citrusy hops, with a light grapefruit taste, emerge mid-sip and add a welcome boost of bitterness. Those hops mix with the graininess to see the beer off with a nice finish.
M: The toasted malt body starts the beer off nice and the hops kick in at just the right time to boost the taste.
D: The APA is nicely balanced, offering up the hops at just the right time. The abv doesn't seem that bad, greating adding to the drinkability. I pledge to finish the growler tonight!
