"Brewed in honor of Francis Rogallo, an Outer Banks local and inventor of the flexible wing (the patent was sold to NASA in 1957 and the design later evolved into the modern hang glider). The beer is a light & lofty, pale golden spring ale full of complexities from Belgian Trappist yeast."
Served on tap into a pint glass. Dark golden in color with a solid white head of decent size on top. Not much retention but there was a bit of lacing.
Aromas were slightly sweet with a nice hop aroma. Grassy tones as well as some straw aromas. Slight toast with a touch of caramel.
Decent flavor. Nothing mind blowing but a nice overall beer. Certainly an easy drinker and a very nice offering for the spring/summer months. Not much of an influence from the Belgian yeast (really no yeastiness at all) but a fairly nice beer.
