This beer has a bitter, metallic taste - not smooth and silky at all. There are far better chocolate porters out there. Probably reflects the artificial flavorings in it. Do not recommend.

Murky black dark brown appearance.
Around medium light carbonation with about an average body. Has a bit of a slick, oily, creamy feel.
Aroma is a really nice blast of sweetened peanut butter, peanut butter cookies, molasses, dark chocolate, creamy milk chocolate.
Taste is very similar to aroma, mildly sweet but a bit of bitterness and alcohol burn. Slight sour alcohol taste that lingers. Peanut butter, roasted malt, dark and milk chocolate.
Overall its really nice with the aroma being the best part.

12 oz can. Pours brown with a rocky tan head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is roasty chocolate fudge with peanut butter and some perfumey floral notes.

The flavor is roasted chocolate with peanut butter with some floral notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, nice mix of roast chocolate and peanut butter, but I remember liking this better when I had it last.

I don't care if you like porters or not - go getcha some of this!

From the title alone you would think this is a simple dessert beer, but from the get-go you realize it is not. The look is an almost perfectly black liquid, pours thick, and comes with a thick, creamy head that leaves beautiful lacing down the pint glass. The smell is about as perfect as anything I have ever tried, it has a beautifully balanced blend of malt, hops, chocolate, and peanut butter. Simply delicious just to spend the time smelling alone. Mouthfeel is creamy, carbonated, and with a smooth finish I haven't experienced in quite some time. In the end, it all comes down to taste - and this has everything - dessert beer sweet while not being overly, light hop bitterness to take the edge off of the sweetness, it is really good. Overall, though this might say here it is retired, I found it recently and I'm looking toward to finding some more.

12oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, brown head of foam. It smelled of peanut butter, chocolate and toffee. Very sweet with peanut butter and chocolate. Minimal bitterness.

How about a fine Imperial Porter for your #mondaymotivation on this dreary Monday on the east coast? Horny Goat is probably the best name for a brewery that I have heard up to this point in my life. The Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter is 8.5% abv and is a limited edition for Horny Goat. This Imperial Porter taste the best poured into a clean nonic pint glass and enjoyed while surveying your kingdom. This brew has a heavy peanut butter aroma with graham cracker, and chocolate. This Porter has a fine malt profile with flavors of toffee, caramel, chocolate, coffee, and oh yes, molasses. Sorry DuClaw, this is the best Porter that I have ever had.

12 ounce can, 3356 0013 stamped on the bottom of the can. The can was given to me from one of my friends and I came across it in the back of my fridge lately so it's possible this was canned in late 2016 (but I'm not 100% sure of that). Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. I like the aroma, the brew smells mostly like milk chocolate and peanut butter/peanuts, along with some graham cracker and molasses. Taste is similar to the aroma. I think the chocolate/peanut butter flavors are the strongest, but with graham cracker, caramel, burnt/charred malt, and earthy flavors noticeable too. I do think it smells a little better than it tastes. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this brew, hopefully one day I'll get to try it fresher. Certainly worth picking up if you like chocolate/peanut butter brews.

For a, as the can says, "malt beverage" this rich dark concoction hits so many high notes. Intense chocolate and peanut butter (it literally is like drinking a reeses cup) paired with the dark caramel and smoke of a heavily malted porter. What hop profile there is is light and serves as a delightful counterbalance to the overall in your face intensity of the malt and added flavoring. And it goes down like a glass of chocolate milk.

Highly delicious. Highly dangerous.

Dark colo-like appearance with a chunky bubble foam head about two fingers thick hangs on to side of glass with pretty good lacing. This was poured from a 12oz. can into a tulip glass. The smell of peanut butter is what I first sensed but that quickly changed to more of a chocolatey peanut smell with the peanut part kind of seeming a bit artificial. I don't mean that in a bad way, it's just not a normal peanut butter smell, to me anyway, but I do like the way it smells. Taste is quite smooth with the peanut butter coming through along with chocolate. Carbonation is mild as is the alcohol which is what I prefer. The aftertaste is almost like a Reeses candy, maybe a little heavier on the peanut though. As others have noted, as it warms there's more char taste there. I think I'd have preferred a bit more sweetness and less artificial taste on the peanut butter side. Overall I enjoyed it.

Appearance is a dull, dark coffee black with a tan, lumpy light foam and a short, wavy wall gripping upward.

An intense buckeye smell perfumes the immediate vicinity as it pours out of the can, with a little cola and roastiness.

Taste is semi-bitter chocolate, followed by rich cocoa peanut butter, a little tangy nut and root beer.

Medium-thin body with a light carbonation and a semi-dry to dry finish.
