Growler from Premium Draught.
A: Pours an opaque black color. A dense, two finger tan head forms with excellent retention. Rings of lace coat the glass all the way down.
S: Big and malty, but at the same time nuanced. Roasted malts, with the coffee that is fantastic here. Chocolate with baked bread, light bitterness from the roast and coffee.
T: One of the better integrated coffee stouts that I have had. Roasted malts, baked bread, chocolate, and mealy from the oats. That great coffee character mixes perfectly. Everything is really well balanced.
M/O: A full body with moderate carbonation. Still crisp, but that ultra silky smooth body from the oatmeal is perfect. So easy to drink and immensely enjoyable. A great offering for the cold months, but among those great stouts that I can come back to anytime.
This is fantastic. The coffee is so well integrated with the roasted malty quality, and the oatmeal makes the mouthfeel divine. I hope to see this around town a lot. Really well done to say the least.
