On cask at the brewery on a cold day (well, cold for Austin at 32 degrees).

It does warm the throat nicely with chile heat, but there's no smokiness. The Chile notes do dominate, eclipsing the base beer entirely. In a blind tasting, I'd barely be able to guess it was a stout save for the finish, which offers a reprieve from the heat with a brief creamy chocolatey flavour and a silky texture.

A 6oz pour on a cold day is great, but I wouldn't buy it by the sixer. Still a lovely chile beer with an ideal level of heat.

This doesn't have me sweating or reaching for milk or anything, and I'm a bit of a white guy panzy when it comes to chile heat.
