(512) Helles is a Munich style pale lager that’s gold in color. Super light, delicious, and perfect for the Texas heat, this beer is crisp, with notes of traditional German lager yeast and a kiss of Bestmalz Cara Pils. Enjoy!

A simple but delicious beer. Good balance of noble hop character (flavor, and aroma), and good malt backbone. This is one of my favorite lagers. Refreshing, dry, and flavorful. Always worth reaching for.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear straw color with a one finger head of puffy white foam. The head has a great level of retention, with it slowly fading over time, leaving a tiny bit of streaky lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is heavy of a bready and wheaty aroma mixed with some caramel malt sweetness and a bit of harvest fruit of pear. Along with these smells comes a touch of herb and a little bit of a mustiness.
Taste – The taste begins with a nice bready and caramel malt base mixed with a bit of the harvest fruit that was detected in the nose. As the taste advances more graininess and wheat works its way onto the tongue, with it accompanied by some earthy and herbal hop flavors. Toward the end, the earthiness gets a bit more intense and the sweetness fades just a tad, leaving one with a very nice, slightly malty (but not too malty) crisp lager taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the medium to slightly thinner with a carbonation level that is rather high. For the style and the tastes, the feel is great and makes for a nice refreshing and crisp brew overall.
Overall – A rather nice flavorful, but still refreshing Helles. Rather nice overall.

12oz bottled 5-4-21. Opened 5-29-21.
2 finger stark white head. Tight bead and excellent retention.
Golden with great clarity and active carbonation.
Light sulfur, sweet grainy malt, a hint of hay/grassy hops.
Clean, bready malt flavor and nice balance from a subtle hop flavor and a late apple/tree fruit.
Light body with medium carbonation and close to a crisp mouthfeel - surprise for a Helles but welcome.
Moderate and lingering bitterness in a just barely off dry finish.
Very Good to Outstanding.
