Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a golden amber color with a small white head. The head fades rather fast leaving a trace of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a grainy and bready smell mixed with some light aromas of caramel and a very light toasted aroma. Along with these smells comes a little bit of herbal and grassy hop and some hay.
Taste – The taste follows the nose well. It begins with a grainy flavor mixed with some caramel malt and a bit of a herbal hop. As the taste advances the graininess fades all while a touch of yeastiness and some light bready flavors come to the tongue. Some hay and some apple and pear come at the end, leaving one with a rather crisp, clean, and somewhat grainy taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is light to medium with a carbonation level that is average. Overall, good for the style and good for the drinkability.
Overall – A rather easy drinking Kolsch. Nothing super exciting but refreshing and easy drinking none the less.
