Served on cask, no head but lacing. Opaque, dark and a red hue trying to show itself. Nose light with raspberry, mineral. Chocolate raspberry bomb on the tongue without being overly sweet. Light mouthfeel with a bit of a coating, not quite creamy.

(512) Pecan Porter (Cacao & Raspberry)

A- Pretty much black in color with some brown hue and a 1/2 finger off white head.

S- Aromas of cacao powder and ripe raspberries. Didn't get to smell it much.

T- unsweetened cacao powder (like the stuff on truffles) hits the palate right away followed by those ripe raspberries that I smelled. The combination of the two made kind of a chipotle fruitiness to me. Works well though. On the finish there's a nice nutty flavor with hints of chocolate.

M- super smooth! Moderate carbonation.

O- all the flavors blend well together. Nothing overpowers anything else. Very well balanced and very smooth and a bit creamy. Probably the smoothest Porter I've had. Great stuff.

Cask at the Holy Grail Pub.

The beer pours a dark brown to black color with an off-white head. The aroma has a lot of cocoa notes, as well as some roasted malt and a hint of raspberry. The flavor is similar. I get some burnt malt and cocoa notes, as well as some dark fruit notes. As the beer warms up I get some additional raspberry notes, which compliment the other flavors quite nicely. Medium mouthfeel and low carbonation. A nice take on a very good beer.
