Poured into a goblet cold straight from a growler filled at the pub. The beer is a dark chocolate brown color with fizzy , dense beige head of 2 cm. The foam fades rapidly after the pour and is a thin edge layer throughout the sampling. This creates some lattice after each sip.
The aroma is roasted notes and dark chocolate, with maybe a little bit of a spicy hop character. But generally very clean straightforward nose.
First sip reveals an average body with fine tingly carbonation that rolls across my palate with each sip.
Flavor is similar to nose lots of roasted malts and dark chocolate and again very clean with no long lingering notes.
The alcohol is hidden on this smooth drinking brew and I think it is well crafted for the style.
Glad to have tried some on my first night in New Hampshire.
