Sampling a 16 oz can, cold and poured into a snifter/chalice glass. Picked up at the brewpub 3 days ago, no date stamp.
The beer pours a clear cola brown color with a creamy beige head of 1 cm. The foam fades to a sturdy surface covering and leaves some windowpane lattice when I take a sip.
Aroma is roasted malts and some dark chocolate with a bit of grassy hop scent and a little bit of a chalky scent too. Balanced nose that is appealing for the style.
First sip reveals a medium to light body with fine and tingly carbonation. Texture is smooth and this beer drinks very easy.
Flavor is some roasted malt notes, dark chocolate and cocoa powder. This moves to some grass and a bit of pine sap hop and then moves back to roasted malts on the finish. Never any ABV hints and the balanced beer from the nose is what shines on the flavor profile.
This is a pretty solid and balanced porter. Glad to have had a chance to try this one and add to my tally of Flying Goose beer reviews!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
