On-tap at the brewpub in New London, NH. One finger head that fades slowly to a thin layer leaving a some lace. Clear amber color. Light carbonation and light-medium bodied. Malty nose. Starts balanced, brewer has it "full of hops" but the hops are not in your face. Slight bitter finish.

Very hazed brown hue, the lace is merely a ring around the glass. Buttery musty aroma. Mild on the hopping. Graininy slick mouth feel with a medium body, lot of diacetyl and an odd musty flavor ... not sure if it is coming from the yeast or perhaps too much trub in the boil that passed on too much break into the finished beer.
Too many off flavors and aromas for my liking.

A decent brown ale but as a strong brown, it is missing a lot of flavor. Appearance was lighter than expected, it had a good hop nose with light carbonation from the growler. Left a trace of lace down the side of the glass. Had a good, sweet nutty brown flavor and hops were right on the money - not too much but just enough to make it interesting. The real problem with this beer is that it had a short watery finish which was helped out a little as the beer warmed. They defenitely serve this one too cold at the brewpub.

This Brown has a medium-dark amber color, a tan, creamy head, and good lacework. Nutty notes and roasty malts, along with a touch of hops, make up the nose. Flavor leads off with malty, nutty aspects....then hops come into play. Has a bit of citrus flavor (just a bit) and some bitterness in the long, lingering finish. Zum Wohl!!
