Very unique, almost unintelligible bottle brought back from Japan by my Dad, who was staying near the brewery.
Pours a pale, slightly cloudy yellow, with lots of fizzy carbonation. Filmy head of white bubbles. Not particularly appealing.
Rice-sweet aroma on the nose. Grainy barnyard notes, and a hint of green vegetation. Mostly sweet, and sickly though.
Taste isn't any better - sweet rice-wine character and a hint of solvent-like bitterness. Feel is flat and lifeless. Overall a pretty unpleasant experience.
Pretty awful overall, really. Quite thoroughly undrinkable, with as much character as porridge gruel. Overall, I always appreciate the opportunity to try an odd beer, but I'm glad this is unobtainable where I live.
