On cask at the Daily Pint, so I gave it a whirl.

Appearance - Sort of a cloudy, muddy golden color. A nice, solid head sticking around.

Smell - Mild hops, more maltiness than expected. It smells interesting, not like the sharp hops from a west coast IPA. More mellow, and maltier.

Taste - Almost sweet. Plenty of malt going on. The hops are present, but in the background. It's a very fruity, sweet IPA. Very easy to drink, sort of like apple juice, but just not enough bite going on. Not enough anything going on. Sort of like sour apple juice, to be frank.

Mouthfeel - A little heavy on the tongue. Not smooth.

Drinkability -Pretty solid. It's a sweet, interesting, fairly balanced IPA.

This is a good English IPA, with some nice balance and fruitiness. That said, it's missing another layer of flavor, and anything remotely challenging to the palate.

Glass at Verdugo out of the handpump about a week ago, stopped there when I passing through from Glendale, reviewed from notes, had been wanting to try a beer from the new Santa Ana folks

A-Golden yellow body with some light orange highlights, one inch frothy white head out of the cask, stuck around for a few minutes, decent retention, minimal lacing
S-British malts and toasted aromas, mild hoppiness that is mostly lemony citrus, some grassy accents, grains, and straw, pretty bland overall for an IPA
T-One thing this definitely had going for it was balance, malts and hops molded well, you can say they complented each other but I tasted the mix the whole way through and neither one ever really stood out on its own, even when it warmed and sweeter malt usually shows through, easy drinking brew that should appeal to the masses and glad I tried it
M-Medium bodied, carbonation was low obviously from the serving style, dry, toasty, and biscuit-like mouthfeel, taste did not linger too long
D-Could drink some more pints of this for sure, goes down easy and is smooth, flavor is neutral and light on the stomach, alcohol is hidden as well

Would call this more of a pale ale than an IPA because of the hop taste and quantity by American standards, but this is an English-style India pale ale and you can sure see the differences, those who are used to the big Cascade hop flavor should not expect it from this one, it is more subtle and balanced with the malt, might drink again, worth trying

Poured on cask with a golden body and frothy head that lingered until the glass was empty, this beer went down really smooth and easy. Not nearly as hoppy as most ipa's produced in California, rather this IPA is a well-balanced meld of British hops and malt that left me wanting more. One of the most drinkable beers I've tried.
