Growler from Bootlegger's Brewery where this was contract brewed. Looks quite black with about a finger of light brown head that has plenty of retention. Aroma of roasted barley, coffee, creamy and dry. Flavor is nicely roasty with coffee and chocolate, bitter roast. The finish is lasting and roasty with a bit of cookielike malts. I like the rich roastiness in the flavor but the finish has a bit of a burnt roastiness that persists too long. Slightly burnt but a small price to pay for the nice flavors. Moderate to full in body with a smooth moderate carbonation that recreates the creaminess that is so nice in the style. Very good example of a dry stout.
