super weird recipe here, a kettle soured brut ipa, dry hopped with some cool stuff, but with hibiscus in the mix also, potentially trying to be rose wine, at least the name suggests that to me, and there is a real likeness. i go back and forth though on whether i like this very much or not. the first few sips are fizzy and tangy, dry and bright, and it seems summery and lightly floral, definitely a rose wine essence about it, and seemingly a successful mission here. then as it warms though, i start to get some weird other flavors, under ripe raspberry tang and a less than perfectly clean lacto souring, some acidic lemon element, and a tea-like hop aspect that kind of comes out of nowhere. i think i like the hop profile, some distinct white grape and stonefruit brightness that only add to the wine character of the beer as a whole. the grain is light, clear, and dry, and while i at first dont like that this is seemingly designed to be crushable but is so strong, i start to appreciate the alcohol strength a little more as it warms, i think it also contributes to the vinous vibe here. i think to call this an ipa is extremely generous, the hops are not at all a driving force of this, and the bitterness is next to nothing. that said, i think the beer overall is pretty cool, better than some other takes on this sort of thing i have had, but still a few tweaks away from something i want to spend the summer with. good effort though, always fun to have new beers from these guys. maybe a better beer if it wasnt soured...
