On draught at Frontier Brewing and Taproom.
Pours a crystal clear straw gold with a good head of foam and lacing.
Smells of malt, light grain, bit of bread and ginger.
Taste is bready malt, light grain, pretty Kolsch like, and then it finishes with a twang of Ginger.
Medium bodied. Good beer.

one of the more ambitious beers i have had or seen from these guys, solid stuff, way ahead of expectations. a simple and light kolsch base, jazzed up with fresh ginger and lemongrass, more spring than fall by a light year, but a pleasant and easy drinking brew. the lemongrass is remarkable pungent in here, even ahead of the ginger, much to my delight and surprise, i thought for sure the ginger would dominate it, very well proportioned in aroma and flavor. there is some spiciness to the ginger, but its balanced but a pale malt sweetness that remains in the middle of this, its the floral and distinctive and very fresh lemongrass that stands out the most to me, a really honest expression of it in a beer too, great work with that. im not sure how much i would care for the kolsch without these things in it, it seems a touch sweet and really light, without much traditional german character from the malt or the yeast, and a little boring overall, but that is the perfect context for these ingredient additions, and it all seems well planned and designed. the brightness and forwardness of the lemongrass really makes this for me, and i hope they keep it going so i can enjoy this in the warm weather next year. fun food beer as well i reckon. nice!
