delicious brew here that they are calling a tropical pils, to me its just extra hoppy, very well refined, and way better than other lagers i have had from these guys in the past, never been their strong suit in my experience. this is crystal clear, immaculate in the glass with an inch of white head from the tap. straw colored and light looking. the aroma is interesting, complex even in this style, bready and european on the malt side, definitely a pilsener at its core, minerals along with it, good water chemistry, but then its super hoppy and not traditional there, bitter sure but more floral character, lime, and even mango, apparently its dry hopped with strata and saphir, cool for this style. the flavor is crackery earthy german tasting pils malt up front, the lager yeast is also old worldy to me, patiently deployed too, this is dry and crisp and nicely lagered. the hops are on the back end mostly, some juicy fruit character including orange and guava, lemongrass too, and then some defined bitterness on the dry finish. its refreshing quenching but it also has some structure to it, and more malt flavor, pale as it is, than anticipated, kind of neat with the dry hopping, and this comes across as way more flavorful than a lot of these, almost a style hybrid but different than other hoppy lagers for sure. lovely carbonation and drinkability, beautiful hop profile, unconventional for the style but super compatible with the pils base. ideal for summer weather.
