solid, a little sweet, slightly astringent, big feeling but from grains and hops not from a massive alcohol profile in it, tasty, a attempt at being a little newer school i think, but still malty to me, they could have let it be a little bit lesser there i think, but its a nice effort and its cool to have something new from these guys. a 30 year anniversary is an occasion worth celebrating, especially in the current craft beer climate. rusty orange colored and clear under an inch of white head comprised of large size bubbles fizzing and popping. it smells juicy to the point of almost being fruit forward, peaches, cantaloupe, and mandarin oranges, with a toasted bread backing that brings a little sweetness, a less is more sort of beer that may not use a ton of ingredients, but it uses heaps of the few that are in here. good grain weight and lots and lots of hops. the flavor is a bit sweet, almost candied, most of the way, and less bitter than most in this space on the swallow, light green burn as it warms, but its not all over saturated or anything. some dank resinous character, preserved lemon and even a little tang in that respect, distinctive and bold. some oils to this which i like, only a bit of alcohol at the end, not a firebreather, some more residual sugar than it needs, but it tastes good. i think maybe a touch sharp, a little light on carbonation, and as such a bit more heavy feeling than 8% abv generally warrants, almost sets up like double digits. i get more and more bitterness as i drink on it, an almost cumulative effect somehow. hefty and good, glad i got to try it, heres to another 30 years for snake river!

12 oz. Can

Poured into a Trillium glass a pretty nice slightly hazy dark golden orange color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which also leaves some pretty nice thick/creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, mango, grapefruit, guava, pineapple), pretty nice pineyness like. The taste is very nice, hoppy, malty, with a very nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, mango, grapefruit, guava, pineapple), pretty nice sweetness, pretty nice piney note like. Medium body, ABV hidden very nicely, with a pretty nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a very tasty beer.
