Sampled at the brewpub on May 21, 2013.
The pour was remarkably dark in color. It was more black than brown with a moderate head. It looked like a Porter quite frankly.
The aroma was more sweet than nutty with a light coffee note - again much like a Porter should be. But it was a Brown.
The body was quite thin to the point of being watered down. That was a slight disappointment.
While the taste led with dark malt and coffee notes there was a kind of goaty flavor that almost seemed a bit off. The wet hop finish rescued it a little at the end.
