this is one of the better beers these guys have put out, sours excluded. its a really bright beer, honey colored golden, radiant, and holding a tall white head. looks awesome in the glass, and smells almost as good. northwestern and european in its hop complexion, a good mix of grassy bitterness and intense pine, cascade could be involved here. i like the lager aspect, i can taste the yeast and i love the finish, balanced by that classic bready thing that doesnt come from the grain, and finishing quick, allowing the hop bitterness to be quite striking on the back end. not overly complex, but plenty strong, i was feeling this one for sure. it does have a bit of sweetness to it, more than i usually like in my hoppy beer, but its not so much of a distraction as to be a negative, it just could be dialed back a turn or two in the future. very very fresh, well made, and interesting as lagers go. i was a fan. i dont think they made a whole lot of it though, as i hardly saw any bottles in the market and very select draft handles, i wonder what that batch size was and if they are going to keep making it or not?
