Gifted a bomber bottled in October '17. Charcoal body with a khaki head with chocolate swirls. Head dissipates quickly and you're left with an inky-black liquid.
Aroma is fudge, French roast coffee, roasted grains a bit of char.
Taste is coffee-forward and slightly acidic (for my tastes), followed by roasted malt and milk chocolate. The latter element brings a level of sweetness that balances the coffee.
Medium mouthfeel, nothing cloy or acrid. Solid beer.

Frontier Justice pours absolutely solid and pitch black. A dark tan foamy, almost nitro creamy looking head caps the liquid below with a one finger thickness. When it settles, it looks like the frothy on an espresso and leaves some fingerprint like spots on the glass.
Coming out of the bottle is an instant aura like waft of roasted coffee. Reminds me of coffee ice cream with it's sweet chocolatey undertones.
Coffee, coffee, coffee! The flavor once again is dominated by the roasted brew. And again with some sweet chocolate and some toasted bread.
The texture is just right. Smooth and creamy, rich. The alcohol is hidden, and it's easy to drink.
If you're a fan of espresso, this one is great. I'm a fan of all things coffee, so it's great for me. A perfect night cap too, on a chilly night. Hell, might make for a great breakfast beer as well. Cheers!

32 oz growler bought from Westside taphouse in West Salem OR. $10 Black beer with a nice sized creamy tan head. Creamy milky coffee bean aromas..oats and toasted almonds aromas. Taste similar with a nice bitter coffee after taste. Nice smooth and full plate.but surprisingly well carbonated. Aids drinkability. Very nice coffee beer.
