Notes:
Named for the legendary rapids on the Snake River in Oregon's Hells Canyon, this traditional German-style Helles Lager utilizes Oktoberfest Lager yeast, Belgian Pilsner malt, and NW-grown Liberty hops. Helles Canyon Lager is a crisp & clean, straw-colored lager, with an emphasis on malt & hop balance.

Look: Clear straw yellow with a sudsy white head that forms and quickly recedes to a film, leaving minimal lacing behind
Aroma: Pilsner malt, floral hop notes, some dough, cereal grains, light honey notes, and crackers
Taste: Cereal grains and pilsner malt kick it off as layers of floral hops follow suit – spirea, butterfly bush, and some andromeda prominent in the mix. Dough and honey appear from time-to-time intertwining with the dominant malt flavors and closes with more floral hop notes
Mouthfeel: Light but fairly full, clean throughout, medium carbonation, and clean and crisp on the finish
Overall: I dig it. Another local brewer on the Helles lager train you say? I’m in and this was not only a pleasant surprise to find at a local grocery store but it’s good. I don’t think I can put this in the top tier of produced-in-state Helles but it’s right under that – my only personal knock would be that I’d prefer it more carbonated than mine are but regardless, it’s refreshing, tasty, and easy to drink
