Draft at Leftys. Hazy copper colored pour, skin of head. Faint malty aroma, toasty. Taste is light and bready with stronger caramel notes and a bit of hoppiness that appear at the finish.

this appears to be a different brewery than riverbend as one word, which is in oregon, i had not heard of them before. i was just out this way, saw it on tap in a few spots, but am not sure if they have a brick and mortar place or a public space, seems like very little information is available online out there. this is a very homebrewy beer, and thats not a compliment unfortunately. its old school with all the malt, has a ton of promise in terms of ingredients and balance, but lacks even a little refinement, and is really pretty sloppy by professional standards. that said, it has a few things going for it, the hops are flavorful and have nice bitterness, i also think the fermentation is neat because it has some taste instead of being a flavorless ale yeast. its hazy and light amber colored, maybe unintentionally hazy, but a good head from the tap. smells sweet and baked, with some spicy and piney hops to it, a little bit of pep, and a slight english doughy yeast thing going on, lots of action from all the elements, but i dont love the way it comes together. it should be drier than it is, the yeast is maybe done a bit warm, and the beer could really use a more strict cold crashing regimen or some filtration of some point, its thick with residual bits. overall a hard beer to get excited about at this stage of its evolution, but its cool to have another small brewer in the game poking around in this neck of the woods (literally)...

A-Slightly hazy copper with a thick white head that left light lacing.
S-A smack of fresh citrus hops and sweet biscuity malt.
T-Good solid malty, slightly nutty flavour with a fairly aggressive citrus hop bite.
M-Medium body with a nice lingering hop bite.
D-This is straight up good stuff. A very nice example of how to make a flavourful brew without getting carried away. Balanced and very refreshing.
