This dunkel is very, very sweet in both aroma and taste, taste bordering on chocolatey. Color is deep, dark brown with minimal head. Sweetness is a little alarming at first (for a dunkel) and gets more cloying as you get through this. I was really expecting much better.

Appearance: Medium chestnut; cloudy; medium head; good lacing
Aroma: Malty; raisiny; slight pepper
Taste: Juicy malt; a little light on the mouthfeel; finishes slightly hoppy with lingering small hop flavor; not complex
Remarks: Good session beer, but not overly impressive
Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores

Chestnut wood color, dark, with corpuscoles (!). Beige head, quite compact.
The smell is on the classic tones for a dunkel, but with an inconsuete fresh hop, pleasantly inviting (almost balsamic, something like pine).
The taste is less definite, more attenuate. The hop is still present, even if less evident. A good maltiness, with roasted and even burned notes. A slight sweet fruity (peach?).
Essentially malt in the aftertaste, with a peppery finish.
