Hoppy and grainy amber brew. On tap at the restaurant and brewery in downtown Oceanside. Medium amber color with adequate foam in the glass. Interesting fruity aroma with scorched wheat nose.
Flavor starts with an odd grainy taste. Some malty sweetness on the lips, but the finish is dry. Quite bitter. Brewery says it's made with Fuggles and Goldings hops. It's an interesting tangy brew with a funny woody and bitter herbal taste. The grain tastes like toasted buckwheat. Drinkable enough, especially for the seriously low alcohol content.
