April 1st, 2015 - Slight and faint, this brew looks petite, but the regular pillars of carbonation suggest a subtler strength on the mouthfeel, as does the velvet head that manages to stay strong even in the cramped confines of a 3 oz. taster glass. Making a little room for the aromatic particles to congregate, I dip my nose into the thimble and catch slight smells of wheat, and a lemon citrus, combined to create the sensation of something like a shandy. The flavor is mellow and savory at the same time, with a bit of plum in the aftertaste. And as the bubbles displayed earlier, the palate isn't too thin like the other Breakwater brews I've had today. Instead, the delicate but lively carbonation matches very well with the tastes and the shade of salt added into the brew. This, I find, is a winner here at Breakwater Brewery.
