The beer appears black, with a creamy dark brown head. Retention is good.
The aroma is that of a coffee dominated stout. Roasted notes are strong, with more espresso and dark, bitter chocolate.
The flavor is dry, roasted, bitter coffee. It has some astringency and burnt notes. Dark chocolate is also evident.
It's full bodied with a nice medium level of carbonation and a full, smooth, creamy, and chewy mouthfeel.
This is a pretty standard double stout. No surprises here.
