April 1st, 2015 - The last sampler here at Breakwater Brewery is the Walkabout Stout, and my review is simple. Everything about this beer is like Nestle chocolate syrup. The aroma? Nestle chocolate syrup. The flavor? Nestle chocolate syrup. Not chocolate, generically, but very specifically, Nestle chocolate syrup. It's sweet but plain, and...Nestle chocolate syrup.

After a good first experience, came back to Breakwater to try some food & another beer. Oh, here it comes. Goody. On cask.
Arrives black as a stoutless night, with a head like a thundercloud scaling the cascades. Small, timid nose of chocolate, scattered malts. Not much going on here.
Walkabout Stout, whither all those ingredients? Somebody needs to send out an experienced team to hunt down the advertised chocolate & coffee, maybe Marshall Givens? Tastes like a bland Irish stout, little malt, watery, standoffish coffee, imagined chocolate. Glad I didn’t order a full pint.
Not bad, but really doesn’t even stretch up to touch average. Nothing to it & a bit of a let-down after the excellent IIPA.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
