Served on gravity from a wood barrel on the bar in the Keller of the brewery.
Unfiltered that way most beers should be.
Wonderful cloudiness and deep straw colour.
A biscuty, malty, and woody aroma is subtle, but the flavor packs in a wonderful depth and balance of these flavors combined with a slight flowery and sweet hop note.
The mouthfeel is richer and creamier than average, which I like and why I prefer my lagers unfiltered and on gravity.
You won't find a better keller bier in Munich.
BTW, the other reviewer below had theirs in the outdoor garden. After much experience, I can say this was NOT the wood cask version but normal tap. They don't serve the wood cask version anywhere except in the keller.
The normal version is still better than the other Helles' in town, but a notable step down from the wood cask version.

Served "Naturtrüb aus dem Holzfaß", or direct from a wooden keg, unfiltered.... enjoyed while out in their Biergarten on a rare, warm and sunny day a few days back...
Has a rich golden color, a bit on the darker side. Unfiltered cloudiness abounds, with steady carbonation rising within. Slightly off-white head, creamy and mousse-like... fades slowly, with good stick. Very grassy nose, with some sharpness, and a bready/crackery malt, though a bit understated overall. Body a bit under medium, with a slight tongue-roughness to boot. Light crackery malt flavor to start, with a subtle sweetness. Grassy, bittering, drying hops follow... Not bad, in general, but has no one real overwhelming positive characteristic. Still, a good accompaniment to a couple of Sunday morning Weißwursts.
Prosit!!
