This is an unfiltered dunkles served sometimes from wood barrel.
They often substitute the regular (lame) Lowenbrau Dunkles when it runs out, so make sure you've got an obviously cloudy and unfiltered one.
It has a nice toasty, grainy nose and the taste is more of the same with some toffee notes added. The carbonation is soft and foamy (not bubbly) and the moutfeel is pleasantly heavier than average due to its unfiltered nature. You need to go to Franconia region to find a better Dunkles.
