amazing beer, lower in alcohol than the other ones in this series, a neat white grape version here, but a varietal i am not familair with at all, not sure i have had the wine it yields in the past, but its contribution to this funky saison is splendid. there really is a lot of fruit on this, and as dry as it is in the end, it still seems more like a beer/wine hybrid than a beer gently fruited, its really grapey. i get the bright minerals and obvious fruitiness of say a chardonnay, but the acidity seems more from the fermentation profile than the fruit itself here, as wild and funky as any of their beers i have had, moderately tart but still drinkable in high dosage, at least for me, because its so mature, and interesting, i dont want to set my glass down. dried grasses and flowers here too, but also kind of lush and blooming, with some slate type minerality and an elderflower or even jasmine note to it. the skins contribute some tannins, there is a really cool brett element here, almost a lambic character late, and a nice hearty grain base that keeps the beer half of this obvious. really great carbonation, wonderful vinous complexity, and a beer of the finest overall quality. cant believe these guys arent more talked about, these are some of the best and most unique beers anywhere!
