An interesting brew by Freeminer, allegedly using New Zealand Pacific Gem and Cascade hops. Tasted by half-pint at the Baxter's Court, a JDW pub in Hackney, N. London.
A: bright reddish-brown colour with great clarity, a fluffy off-white beer head sustains on top of a low carbonated body.
S: spicy, resinous hops laced with a sour-sweet pear-ish+lemony aroma, some scents of peach-blossoms stay in the background, on top of mildly caramely malty base. A balance is shown b/w malts, hops, and fruitiness.
T: sour-sweet pear-ish fruity flavour prevails, backed by a restrained/settled caramel malts; gradually a flow of chewy, bitter-sweet edge of caramel malts and roasted nuts plus a bitter edge of tea-leaves develops, leaving a profound, but still mildly-flavoured, bitter hoppyness lingering in the long finish. Not terribly complex, yet very enjoyable.
M&D: balanced on body and easy to drink, this beer is reasonably flavoursome given two distinctive hops used in this brew. It could've been more tasty and richer if a more generous dose of hops is employed. A decent bitter.
