On tap at Dockside Brewery.
Appearance: Clear gold with white head receding to a ring with some lacing.
Aroma: Some bitter hop and warm fruit, perhaps a touch of alcohol. Maybe the beer had warmed a fraction by the time it got to me.
Taste: Here's the big surprise. This is called a light lager so I wasn't expecting a great deal. However, this is pretty good. Malty sweet orange, hinting towards oktoberfest style, with perhaps some distant butterscotch (in a good way), with a long bitter hop finish with some grapefruit and malty sweet richness.
Mouthfeel: On the thick side of medium bodied, a pleasant surprise also.
Drinkability: Pretty good. Dockside brew some very good beers, and this is well above expectations. It's not the layperson's idea of a light lager, thank goodness. I have been to Dockside many times and not had this. I will be having it again in the future.

A - Clear straw colour, a bit on the wimpy-looking side.
S - Generally low-ish in aroma. I think I noticed some fishy-ness (metallic maybe).
T - Sweet, with some grapefruit and some butteryness. A bit like a light APA.
M - Light bodied.
D - Nice drinking beer. I like the flavour, but otherwise, a bit wimpy. Billed as a light beer, it's definitely a winner.

The brewer was born in Germany, and the ingredients certainly fit the bill, so I'm entering this as a Munich Helles lager. (There's no adjuct, and it isn't really light).
From the website:
"Ingredients; filtered water, pale malt, wheat malt, Munich malt, hallertau & saaz hops, lager yeast Golden in color with balanced sweet malt flavor and a drying finish".
A: Golden-yellow, quite clear, with a little head.
S: Grassy, slightly spicy hops with a little bready malt.
T: Predominantly noble hop flavour, quite nice. Bready malt sweetness is nicely balanced by the hop bitterness. But this one is really about the hops... they're centre-stage like a lot of Pacific Northwest brews, but they're a noble, German variety. Quite nice (for a 'light' beer).
M: Light body, well attenuated, dry finish. Light to moderate carbonation.
D: VERY drinkable.
