Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy burnt amber color with a nice finger’s worth of white foamy head that died off at a nice pace. Moderate lace. The aroma strikes at some semi-sharp piney bitterness to grassy sweet hops. Sly caramel malt base. The flavor leads initially with the sweetness of the hops but ends up blending nicely with some of the bitter piney portion of the hops. Gentle but there. Melded between the hops and malts freely flowing into the aftertaste. Quick malted finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. Bitterness seems a bit lower than expected but good for what it is. Overall, good AIPA that I could have again.

Had on tap in 2013, catching up a little. Pour is golden amber and clear with a tight slightly off white head. Nose is grassy and piney hops with notes of sweet malt, caramel. Taste has a fair bit of malt to it, sweeter caramel and some grain notes, with a bitter grassy hop profile with notes of citrus in back. Moderate carbonation and a medium body. Gets a hint syrupy.

Growler picked up at the brewery a little less than a week ago, shared with rudzud and Ricky.
Nice creamy pillowy, almost 1 finger head fades at a med pace, crystal clear golden tan orange color.
Nose is nice, good Amarillo hop character, fruity, little melon, little citrus and clementine with the little tea leaf, hint grainy malt.
Taste is much more muted than it was on tap, light fruity hop, some grassy floral hops, little juicy, some grainy malt and mild malt character. Fairly light and crisp but decent flavor. Hops get a little spicy and fair bitterness. Finish turns strong spicy bitterness, little astringent as it dries. I'll have to go with the original sample on tap more, which had a lot more nice Amarillo hops, citrus, melon and mild tropical fruit, fairly juicy, just enough malt to prop up the hops.
Mouth is med to lighter bod, nice carb for growler.
Overall not bad, decent Amarillo showing, better on tap than growler but still decent.

Thanks to JLindros for sharing.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice clear copper hue with a thin quarter inch blanket that fades to leave thin lacing.
S - Aromas of Amarillo, tea leaves, malty sweetness.
T - Taste is dank Amarillo hops, light tea, caramel malts. Tastes old and tired, but it is a week old.
M - Mouthfeel is nice and brightly carbonated, clean.
O - Overall this was a really good beer on tap, but the week has harmed this one. Still, tasty.

A-slightly hazy yellow color with hint of copper, decent white head and lacing
S-malt, faint citrus, pine, slight herbal
T-citrus, bready malt, pine, little tropical fruit, moderate bitter finish
F-medium body with moderate carbonation, crisp
O-solid if not spectacular IPA, like the idea of using single hop varietals

This is another nice selection from Rock Art. Its yet another single hop IPA featuring only the, you guessed it, Amarillo hop. 6%, 40 ibus. Available only in growler fills and in bars around the area. Sooo... this beer was poured from a growler to a 6 oz. tasting glass.
A - VERY nice looking beer. It certainly lives up to its name Amarillo ("yellow" in Spanish), slightly cloudy and lots of carbonation. Decent head with light lacing.
S - Kind of lack luster. You have to work somewhat to get a hint of whats ahead in the taste. Upon a HUGE whiff I get a slighty resiny, grapefruity, piney, sour smell. Not at all unpleasant but not at all over powering.
T - Coming into this underwhelmed by the nose I was VERY pleasantly surprised by the taste. That classic citrus flavor is there, but much more so on the passionfruit side of citrus. Pine notes and resin flavor also very much noticeable. VERY hoppy, and very tasty, yet highly drinkable. Has a "session IPA" feel to it.
M - Very light. Again, very in line with a session IPA here.
O - Overall I very much like this beer. I will enjoy it while it lasts as it is a limited release.
